Unmitigated audacity!

I would rather be a dope addict that at least in part believed Jesus, though still under the bondage of drugs; than a pastor of a church that had been warned about teaching law, yet in his religious pride continued to do so. Because I can assure you that if God is in the business of placing numerical value on sin as some would suggest; it will not be the dope-addict that tastes the fires of hell, but rather those that scared him into the bushes with their teaching.

The unmitigated audacity expressed by a clergy still under law just blows my mind. The fact that one man could beat another man with the law while simultaneously teaching another gospel I find incomprehensible. It reminds me of that old Frank Zappa song, ‘Yellow snow”. Watch out where the huskies go…don’t you eat that yellow snow.

“As I urge you when I went into Macedonia, remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine, nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith. Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith. From which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.’ ~ I Tim. 1:3-7

By the way, these passages come right off of the front page of one of the so-called pastoral epistles! Hmmmm!

Authors note:

If you get trapped by the following verses in I Timothy 1:8-11, remember that you were made the righteousness of God apart from the law. These verses were and are directed at the unbelieving not the struggling.
